Safety Culture & Perception Surveys

Without a strong positive safety culture Safety Professionals risk planting their seeds of safety in unfertile ground. This course delves into the softer side of health and safety. Frequently it is cultural factors that determine whether or not a company will achieve safety excellence. Learn about these factors and what can be done to improve them. Safety perception surveys can be an extremely effective method of assessing your safety culture as well as your safety hardware (e.g. inspection, investigation, etc). The perception survey approach is quickly gaining popularity worldwide. Companies are finding that the survey approach can be more revealing than other tradition methods of measurement such as auditing. Students will gain a better understanding of the perception survey approach as they work with simulated results in class.
